UConn: 20 new student COVID cases reported in 24 hours

STORRS Another 20 cases of COVID-19 have been reported among University of Connecticut students, the university said Wednesday.
Eight of the new cases were identified in students living on campus at Storrs, the remaining dozen were reported off campus, according to a summary of daily cases provided by the university.

STORRS The University of Connecticut reported 23 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, according to UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz.
The majority of the new cases - 17 - were found among students living off campus and attending Storrs. The remaining six cases were found among students living on campus. No additional cases were found among UConn employees and affiliates.
“The current figures include residential students’ on-site testing during move-in weekend Jan. 16-17, plus results of ongoing testing conducted since that time for on-campus students and commuters who have to be on campus for classes, work or research,” Reitz said.
STORRS The University of Connecticut reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, five among students living off campus at Storrs. One other case was reported among university employees and affiliates, the school’s dashboard shows. So far, 46 Storrs residential students have tested positive this semester, and 25 were in isolation after either testing positive or displaying symptoms as of Wednesday. Among commuter students, 28 cases have.
