Amaravati, May 9 : Amid rising Covid cases, and dwindling vaccine supplies, Andhra Pradesh has received a much needed replenishment of its fast dwindling vaccine stocks. State government officials confirmed the arrival of 3.6 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine, by air, on Sunday.
According to officials of Vijayawada airport, 30 cases containing 36,000 vials of corona vaccine arrived here in the morning.

In an effort to ease the shortage of medical oxygen in India, the United Kingdom (UK) is sending three 18-tonne oxygen generation plants and 1,000 ventilators on board the worldâs largest cargo plane.
The oxygen generation plants from the UKâs surplus stocks are each capable of producing 500 litres per minute. The life saving equipment amid a devastating second wave of Coronavirus infections in India was transported from Belfast on Friday (7 May) by an Antonov An-124 aircraft.

The Rajasthan High Court on Friday sought the response of the Centre and the state government on a petition challenging the different prices of anti-coronavirus vaccines and alleging mismanagement of the COVID-19 situation.
The petition also stated that the different prices announced for procurement of vaccines for the central government, states and private hospitals violated the fundamental and constitutional rights of citizens.
Covishield, which is being manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, is priced at Rs 150 a dose for the Centre, Rs 400 a dose for state governments and Rs 600 a dose for private hospitals.
