Man injured in Fort Lauderdale shooting involving at least 10 gunshots, police say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man was injured during a shooting on Friday in Fort Lauderdale’s South Middle River neighborhood.
Police officers responded to the shooting at about 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest Eighth Avenue and Northwest 14th Street. They remained there about 4:30 p.m.
Witnesses said they heard at least 10 gunshots, police said.

Casey Liening, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, said officers found the man injured. Fire Rescue personnel considered him a trauma alert when they took him to the Broward Health Medical Center, according to Liening.
