Alabama ‘witch’ arrested for child neglect, no longer charged with Florida mother’s kidnapping

An Alabama man who was arrested last year in connection with the mysterious disappearance of a missing 21-year-old mother is no longer facing a federal kidnapping charge.
Instead, 39-year-old Shannon Ryan was charged Thursday by Miramar police with child neglect. Ryan, a self-proclaimed witch who has been in jail since his August arrest, is now being held on a $100,000 bond.
On July 26, Leila Cavett’s 2-year-old son was found wandering alone in a Miramar apartment complex. Investigators soon learned that his mother was missing. Cavett, who was living in Georgia and visiting Florida, was last seen July 25.

Rapper Baby Blue, an original member of the hip-hop group Pretty Ricky, issued a heartfelt thank you to his fans for their words of support after he was shot during an attempted robbery outside a South Florida bowling alley earlier this week.
“Thankyou everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I’m still in ICU but I’m ok on the road to recovery,” he wrote in a tweet early Thursday.
The “Love and Hip Hop” star, whose real name is Diamond Smith, explained the gunfire struck him in the shoulder and that the bullet traveled through his lung before becoming stuck in his back.

Diamond Smith) was shot along with another individual while in the parking lot of a bowling alley Monday.
According to reports, the two suspects attempted to steal a gold chain, shooting Baby Blue in the process, police said. He was transported to the local hospital in critical condition after being injured outside of SPAREZ Bowling Alley in Davie, Florida.
The artist and his companion were standing by their cars “when two unknown armed male suspects approached,” according to the Davie Police Department.
PEOPLE writes, “a physical altercation ensued as the suspects attempted to steal a gold chain necklace from one of the victims. One of the suspects’ firearms discharged, hitting Baby Blue in the left shoulder.” The thugs fled the scene after the shooting.
