A woman who was jailed after decapitating her mother and stabbing her head and face 100 times is finding it hard to cope with prison life and attacked an inmate because she thought she was being bullied, a court has heard.
Jessica Camilleri is being held at the Silverwater Correctional Centre, in western Sydney, after killing her mother Rita on July 19, 2019.
Camilleri used seven kitchen knives in the attack, four of which broke due to force, before taking her mother s head outside their St Clair home and placing it on a footpath.
She was found guilty of manslaughter and ordered to serve 21 years in jail where she is being monitored closely by prison officials.

Two charged; third arrested after kidnapping investigation: Strike Force Nicotiana
Detectives have charged two men and arrested a third, following an investigation into the kidnapping of a man from Sydney’s north last year.
About 12.40pm on Saturday 24 October 2020, officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended a unit block on Morrison Road at Ryde, following reports a man had been violently abducted from the underground carpark.
A crime scene was established and following initial inquiries, the matter was referred to detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, who took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Nicotiana.

Police have hit back against Sydney s bitter gangland crime war with a weeklong blitz rounding up 11 suspected criminals.
A series of 47 raids also seized $600,000 worth of drugs, cars, weapons, cash, sports cars, and jewelry from stockpiles across the city.
However, police failed to find a single gun in the four dozen searches, which was the stated purpose of each of the warrants.

11 charged after more than 40 warrants and FPO searches conducted – Raptor Squad
NSW Police have charged 11 people and executed 42 Firearms Prohibition Orders (FPO) searches and search warrants as part of a week-long operation targeting organised criminal networks across Sydney.
The State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad, with assistance from local police across the Sydney Metropolitan Region, conducted a ‘Week of Action’ between Wednesday 7 and Tuesday 13 April 2021.
During the operation, officers seized more than $400,000 cash, vehicles, weapons, jewellery, and electronic devices.
Officers also seized prohibited drugs with a combined estimated potential street value of more than $200,000.
All items will undergo further forensic examination.
