A GRIEVING family have decided to complete 42 challenges to honour their mother who died after a lengthy battle with cancer. Amber Glover in hospital on August 6 2020 just days after renewing her vows to her devoted husband, Clive Glover. Through tears, Mr Glover told the Worcester News he still breaks down everyday after losing the love of his life. He said: Although it was eight months ago, I still cry everyday, multiple times a day I break down. She was the absolute love of my life. She was mazing person I have ever met, could never do enough for anyone. She was the type of person who kept gifts in the cupboard just in case anyone needed cheering up. She thought of every else even when she was in hospital.

Staggering £100k milestone hit by Runcorn fundraisers

A fundraising team is celebrating raising £100,000 after just three years of supporting Cancer Research UK. Relay for Life Warrington, which is also operates in Runcorn, is a registered committee which fundraises on behalf of Cancer Research UK. Their £100,000 milestone was reached through a combination of street and shop collections, individual and team sponsored challenges, garden parties, prize draws, bake sales, one-off personal donations, and their flagship event which is an annual 24-hour celebration event held at Victoria Park Athletics stadium in Warrington. In 2019, more than 400 participants from Warrington, Runcorn, and surrounding areas joined forces to support the Warrington event, but the pandemic meant that the 2020 activities had to be held virtually.

A 15-year-old girl from High Wycombe has walked an incredible 310,000 steps in March to raise funds for Cancer Research. Mollie Grierson, who is in year 11, decided to take up the Walk All Over Cancer initiative so that she was doing something positive during lockdown, whilst helping to raise money to help the charity provide vital life-saving research. Thousands of people across the country have taken part in the scheme, which was seen an incredible £8.1m raised for Cancer Research. Mollie has contributed to this, as she as raised £490 as of April 1, 2021. Mollie’s mum, Wendy Grierson, said: “Every penny donated through Mollie’s fundraising page automatically transfers directly to Cancer Research UK.
