A HINKLEY worker marked a birthday milestone by taking on a gruelling rowing challenge to raise money for charity. Peter Evans, Station Director at Hinkley Point B, spent just under four hours on the morning of his 60th birthday, December 16, rowing a marathon to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. By the morning of the challenge the fundraising drive had netted more than £6,500 but as the row continued that total soared. “I put in a lot of training to be ready for this but it was still incredibly tough,” said Peter. “As a proud Welshman being sponsored to do part of the row wearing an England rugby shirt made it that bit harder but I persevered and was thrilled to complete the challenge.

Mortgage broker and financial adviser Lifetime has announced its 2021 charity partners; Children with Cancer UK and the Stroke Association UK.
Over £40,000 in total has already been donated to 25 different hospices across the UK, thanks to donations being made via the Lifetime client referral scheme. Now the innovative scheme will provide a £150 donation to either a hospice, Children with Cancer UK or the Stroke Association UK when a current client introduces someone they know to Lifetime.
In an economically turbulent year thanks to the pandemic, Lifetime still managed to secure almost £2,000 in donations. Next year, the business is aiming to build on this and add a further £8,000.
