Overdose leads to raid on home and three arrests

Mayfield, 31, of Somerset, has been charged with first-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (1st offense, greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine); second-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (1st offense, less than 10 units of Schedule 1 and 2 non-narcotic); third-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (1st offense, less than 20 units of unspecified drug); and Possession of Marijuana.

Somerset woman pleads not guilty to attempted murder charge

Darlene Mason A Somerset woman accused of trying to kill her husband was arraigned in Pulaski District Court on Monday. Darlene Mason, 39, pleaded not guilty to Attempted Murder (Domestic Violence) before District Judge Katie Slone, who scheduled her preliminary hearing for January 6. According to Mason s arrest citation, the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office responded to a domestic shooting report at a residence on Woodland Trail around 1:50 a.m. the morning of December 22. At the scene, Mason advised deputies that she and her husband had been arguing when she threw a Christmas decoration at him. He then threw it back, Mason was reported to have said, hitting her in the leg before leaving the residence. Mason denied shooting her husband and told deputies there were no weapons in the house, though she would later show them where her husband s handgun was located.

A far-left journalist working in Arkansas was among four suspects formally charged last week in connection with the firebombings of police vehicles during Black Lives Matter protests during the summer, according to reports. Federal authorities alleged that Renea Baek Goddard, 22, was associated with a group that tossed Molotov cocktails toward Little Rock Police Department vehicles on Aug. 25 as a large crowd demonstrated outside the department’s 12 Street Substation, the Post-Millennial reported. The four suspects were arrested following a months-long investigation by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the report said, citing a Dec. 17 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
