Bullet Train Project: Maharashtra government will provide 80 per cent land in next four months
Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The country s first high-speed bullet train project may get entirely commissioned for operations at once. Recently, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Railway Board, while addressing media via video-conferencing said that Indian Railways is making efforts that the entire bullet train project is commissioned end-to-end, at once. He added that railway authorities want to commission the bullet train project together in both Gujarat and Maharashtra and have planned accordingly. Additionally, the Maharashtra government has assured to make more than 80 per cent of land available for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project in the next four months. Shiv Sena controlled Thane Municipal Corporationâs move to reject the transfer of land for the Rs 1.08 lakh crore bullet train project has surprised its estranged ally BJP. The ruling party in TMC has also rejected a proposal to accept compensation from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd, in charge of the bullet train project, for the transfer of nearly 2000 hectare land. It has simply dumped the proposal in the cold storage and put the ball in the court of the BJP-led government at the Centre.

In a setback for Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet train, Prime Minister Narendra Modi s dream project, the Shiv Sena-led Thane Municipal Corporation has rejected a proposal for handing over land for it in the district. The decision comes amid a dispute between the Sena-led Maharashtra government and the Union government over allotment of land for Mumbai Metro in Kanjurmarg.

E5 Series Shinkansen, also known as Japan s Bullet Train, will be modified for use as rolling stock of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project (MAHSR), said the Japanese Embassy.
