MARYVILLE, Tenn. The Blount County Sheriff s Office said that one woman was dead and another man was hospitalized after a car crash last Wednesday night in Maryville.
They said that Angela Rudd Lowe, 43, from Maryville, was a passenger in the car. She was pronounced dead at Blount Memorial Hospital. They also said that the driver, Jason Lowe, 48, is getting treatment at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn.
UPDATE 5 PM FRIDAY: Two Blount County deputies are on administrative leave and charges are pending against several men, one of whom was shot by the deputies, after the men were found riding Friday in a stolen vehicle, according to the Blount County Sheriff s Office.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating because the deputies, who have not been named, fired their weapons.

Albert Ward III, 35, pleaded guilty in September to use of a firearm during the carjacking and robbery. U.S. District Judge Annemarie Carney Axon sentence Ward to 20 years in prison, according to a joint announcement Wednesday by U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona and FBI Special Agent in Charge Johnnie Sharp, Jr.
Ward had multiple prior felony convictions in state court, including convictions for first-degree robbery, first-degree assault that happened during a 2012 burglary.
The carjacking happened Dec. 6, 2018. It all began that Thursday morning when a woman contacted Birmingham police to report her car had been stolen while she was inside a convenience store on Fourth Avenue in Birmingham. The victim’s phone was inside the vehicle and she was able to track its movements via a phone tracking app.

BLOUNT COUNTY Law enforcement officials said Cody Vaughn was arrested on Sunday in connection to burglary in Blount County.
According to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, Feb. 28, dispatch received a call about a burglary in progress at an address on Berry Mountain.
“Deputies responded to the address and were told by the victim that an unknown male had entered the residence through the front door and exited through a side door and believed to have taken multiple items from the house including a firearm,” the department said in a statement via social media. “When deputies arrived they were able to locate a male matching the description given by the victim behind an abandoned residence nearby. The suspect had a firearm in his possession and was ordered multiple times to drop the weapon.”

The road has been barricaded, BCSO said.
