FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â A traffic stop in Florence County led to a chase and then the discovery of meth and marijuana inside a manâs car, according to investigators.
Authorities said Florence County deputies stopped a car on Tuesday near Effingham for a moving violation.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, there was an odor of marijuana, authorities said.
The deputy was preparing to conduct a probable cause search when the driver drove off and led deputies on a chase which ended in a crash on Poor Farm Road in Effingham, according to investigators.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) – Two brothers connected to a deadly shooting in Florence are now in custody, according to police.
Florence police Lt. Stephen Starling said Johnny Wells was located around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the VA hospital in Charleston and taken into custody without incident.
Johnny Wells and his brother Freddie Wells are both charged with murder, armed robbery and criminal conspiracy in connection to a deadly shooting Tuesday morning.
