Rebecca Ferguson to star in Apple TV+ series Wool

Doctor Sleep, The Greatest Showman and Florence Foster Jenkins actress Rebecca Ferguson has landed the lead role of engineer Juliette in a new Apple TV+ series called Wool.
ADVERTISEMENT Based on Hugh Howey s trilogy of dystopian novels, the drama is being written by Justified and Band of Brothers scribe Graham Yost.
Morten Tyldum whose credits include Defending Jacob and The Imitation Game is directing the project Wool is set in a ruined and toxic future where a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep, a synopsis said.
“The Undoing,” starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, was HBO’s most watched series of 2020. Through the twists and turns of a murder mystery, it also explores themes of economic privilege, race and marriage. On Thursday, May 20 at 12:00pm ET, Washington Post movie critic Ann Hornaday speaks with Kidman and Grant about their roles, the creative opportunities in the streaming television landscape and their friendship offscreen.

“Dune” actress Rebecca Ferguson is set to star in Apple TV+’s adaptation of Hugh Howey’s “Wool” novels, which has received a straight to series order at the platform, the streaming service said Thursday.
Per Apple, “Wool” is set in a ruined and toxic future where a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them.
Ferguson will star as Juliette, an independent and hardworking engineer, and will also executive produce the TV series based on Howey’s New York Times best-selling trilogy of dystopian novels.
