The Seattle Mariners today announced that Michael Huie, who has served the last five years as head groundskeeper for the Tacoma Rainiers, has been named Assistant Groundskeeper.
Prior to being named head groundskeeper for the Rainiers in 2015, Huie was briefly a member of the Mariners seasonal grounds crew at T-Mobile Park during the 2015 season. While in Tacoma, Huie managed the needs of the Mariners AAA Affiliate as well as a pair of professional soccer teams that call Cheney Stadium home: Reign FC of the National Women s Soccer League and Tacoma Defiance, the USL Championship squad for Seattle Sounders FC.
