Nadia Gordon is a rising senior at Florida Atlantic University majoring in Multimedia Journalism.
Her love for journalism began as a child watching the news with her parents, viewing journalists such as Soledad O’Brien and Tamron Hall on various networks. Seeing such influential women in the news sparked Nadia’s passion for reporting and uncovering unsung stories.
Her start as a journalist began as an anchor on FAU’s Owl TV and she has since interned with the Boca Raton Tribune as a newsroom writer and social media content creator.
Nadia is a member of both Lambda Pi Eta, the official Communication Studies honor society of the National Communication Association, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She is also a recipient of The Provost Certificate of Recognition for Publishing.
As the reporter for East Lyme, Old Lyme and Lyme, I cover the routine and the extraordinary aspects of small-town Connecticut life with the same level of care and attention to detail. This commitment is guided by the belief that the local level is where an informed citizenry can have the biggest impact. I enjoy telling the stories that make this area unique and asking the questions you need answered.
