Developer plans for 110-home community off Old Dixie Highway

A developer hopes to place up to 110 homes on a 48.83-acre parcel of land off South Old Dixie Highway at Mayberry Road, about a mile east of Old Dixie s intersection with U.S. 1 in southern Flagler County. We’re really hoping to move forward shortly, said Jessica Gow, a Cobb Cole law firm attorney representing RJN Design and Development, at a Jan. 12 Flagler County Planning and Land Development Board meeting. . Once we get the utilities settled there, we’re ready to move forward. The 110-home proposal itself isn t new, but utility considerations have so far delayed its construction.  We’re really hoping to move forward shortly.

CR Council OKs Manatee Festival for January; COVID contingency dates in place

Crystal River City Council members gave the OK to have the annual Manatee Festival as planned in their downtown, but backup plans are in place if COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations surge. With a quarantined Mayor Joe Meek phoning into council’s Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, meeting, hosted by Vice Mayor Robert Holmes, city officials voted 5-0 to approve the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce’s permit for the event on Jan. 16 and 17. However, depending on virus transmission rates and hospital cases, the chamber has until Dec. 31 to either continue as scheduled or postpone until March 27 and 28. 3 months ago Share The county has transferred to the FGUA utilities that serve Beverly Beach, Eagle Lakes, and Plantation Bay. by: Julie Murphy Flagler County Public Information Officer The sale and transfer of Flagler County utilities to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) was successfully completed Thursday, Dec. 10. “We’ve been working toward this end for quite a while, and was the most complicated transaction I’ve ever been involved in,” said County Administrator Jerry Cameron. “This is a big day both for us and the customers of the utility systems as FGUA can better serve them because of their industry-specific expertise.”
