Aviation development company Sheltair has announced that it is partnering with the Sun ân Fun Aerospace Expo to support the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE). Sheltair, the official fuel provider for the annual expo, has committed to donating $0.10 per gallon on all uplifts during the event to ACEâs Project Skylab in addition to an in-kind contribution. According to the company, it is ready to serve more than 60,000 aircraft movements during Sun ân Fun, which is scheduled to take place April 13-18 at Floridaâs Lakeland Linder International Airport (KLAL).

LAKELAND Thousands of aviation enthusiasts from across the country are arriving in Lakeland for the 47th annual Sun n Fun Aerospace Expo this week from Monday through Sunday. The event features dozens of industry-related workshops, presentations and at least one airshow daily.

Air show lineup, by day
All afternoon airshows start at 1 p.m., with the exception of Thursday when the U.S. Navy s Blue Angels are expected to arrive at noon. Sun n Fun hosts two nighttime airshows starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Largely filmed in Florida, movie follows females who dare to aim higher

LAKELAND, Fla. – In a field currently dominated by men, one Florida film is encouraging young girls and women to fly to new heights by telling the stories of passionate female aviators and showcasing the next generation aspiring to be one of them.
“Fly Like a Girl” was mostly filmed and produced in Lakeland and features stories from a group of strong and zealous females, including Lego-loving and future aviator Afton Kinkade to iconic aerobatic pilot Patty Wagstaff.
