(WTXL) — A Pensacola man was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday, January 15, 2021 on federal charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity and producing child pornography. Just two days before his federal jury trial was due to begin, 47-year-old Travis M. Butler pled guilty to the charges during a pretrial conference. The charges stem from a previous investigation involving illicit communication with a minor that began in early September 2019. In September 2019, law enforcement officers with the Pensacola Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Butler and a minor female from the local area were engaged in illicit communications and activity via Facebook Messenger.
