Florida legislators are pushing to crack down on big tech companies like Twitter and Facebook.
This week the state Senate passed a bill that will fine social media companies if they de-platform statewide candidates up to $100,000 dollars a day.
The issue has been sensitive for GOP lawmakers after former President Donald Trump was removed from Twitter following the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Now, GOP lawmakers in Florida are doing what they can on the state level to, in their opinion, fight back against big tech censorship.

Florida Coastal’s proposed teach-out plan dinged by ABA s legal ed section because of lack of details

A proposed teach-out plan from the Florida Coastal School of Law, which the ABA directed it to file in April, after the for-profit school lost access to federal student aid, has been rejected.
The proposed plan was reviewed by an executive committee of the ABA’s Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.
It “did not include several required items and did not provide sufficient detail as to other items,” according to the notice.

Kemp appoints new prosecutor to Alapaha Judicial Circuit Follow Us

ATLANTA (AP) - A judicial circuit in Georgia has a new top prosecutor.
Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday appointed Chase Studstill as district attorney of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit. Studstill will fill the vacancy left by Dick Perryman, who was promoted to superior court judge of the Alapaha circuit.
The circuit is comprised of Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook and Lanier counties.

Florida State University leads bar exam pass rate in February
After a series of hishaps, Florida finally managed to administer the Bar Exam.
Pass rate percentages ranged from the high 30s to 78.
Florida State University College of Law leads the state in the percentage of first-time bar exam test-takers in February who passed the test required for admittance into the Florida Bar.
Though the school had significantly fewer test-takers than other schools, of FSU’s nine examinees, seven passed the exam, or just under 78%.
The next most successful school in the February cohort was Florida International University College of Law, with a 75% pass rate among its 20 first-time exam-takers.
