CORAL SPRINGS, FL - We remain optimistic that with the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, the end of this unprecedented pandemic is in sight for 2021.
We are proud to have developed partnerships with the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) and Florida Department of Health (FDOH), as well as local medical providers to serve as a distribution point for the COVID-19 vaccine. Our city staff quickly assembled a team to open a site at the Coral Square Mall to better serve the senior community in the northwest corridor of Broward County in January.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. St. Matthew Baptist Church, which is in the heart of Jacksonville s Black community, is one of seven churches statewide that partner with Governor Ron DeSantis and the State of Florida to get the COVID-19 vaccine in as many arms as possible.
Governor DeSantis described his reach to religious centers as part of an effort to bring the vaccine to places people trust.

One by one cars pulled into Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for the vaccination drive.
State representatives Geraldine Thompson and Travaris McCurdy teamed up with the Florida Department of Emergency Management to hold the event.
“In order to achieve community-level immunity during this pandemic we have to make sure every zip code, every community has access to the vaccine,” Thompson said.
The lawmakers said 500 people ages 65 and older signed up to get the shots. They said the appointments filled quickly.
McCurdy said it is important to bring the shots into the community.
