Gov Ron DeSantis visits Panama City to celebrate 23rd Street flyover project

DeSantis has been visiting Bay County frequently in recent weeks, mainly because of announcements related to the COVID-19 vaccine, but decided to stop by and celebrate the infrastructure project that started under former Gov. Rick Scott. The $67.9 million project will stimulate economic development for the Panama City region as the growth continues, DeSantis said. If you look at the state of Florida over the last year, home sales are up 24% year-over-year, you see home prices going up and that s partially because people see Florida is governed right. DeSantis added that Florida isn t locking people down, has kept the economy open and that has directly resulted in the growth of the state. With the growth continuing in Bay County, this project was important to fix the traffic issues that has plagued the area for years, he said.
