Clerks of courts and comptrollers in Florida’s 67 counties will be able to better fund their services and stabilize annual budgets with the Legislature unanimously passing House and Senate bills expected to be signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Senate Bill 838 and House Bill 903 authorize clerks and comptrollers to establish and maintain reserve funds from one year to the next and also allow enhancement of payment options for consumers.

Some individuals may not be fully aware of the rights we, as Florida residents, have to public information. In recognition of Sunshine Week March 14-20 clerks throughout the state are celebrating transparency in government, and our role in providing residents access to important public, court and historic records.
As clerk of court and comptroller in Leon County, I am proud of my responsibility and ability to provide our citizens with access to records and the resources they need to be active members of the community. Maintaining transparency and equal access to public information is one of my core responsibilities as your clerk of court – and one I take very seriously.
