The Florida Department of Health has 40,000 people on a waiting list for the COVID-19 vaccine, so access to new appointments will be limited until the state is able to deal with the backlog.
“No one is setting appointments unless we actually have the vaccine in place,” said Jackson Health System Carlos Migoya during This Week In South Florida on Sunday.
The long lines for COVID-19 vaccinations will look a little different Monday, as the site will close early in preparation for the college football playoff game.

Miami-Dade Will Offer Limited Vaccine Appointments Monday
Miami-Dade County will again be opening a limited number of appointment slots for the COVID-19 vaccine for people 65 and older.
Seniors can schedule appointments starting 2 p.m. Monday on the county s scheduling tool at miamidade.gov/vaccine.
Again, the county pointed out the demand for the vaccine is much greater than the existing supply.
