Plan ahead
Angie Lindsey is the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences point of contact with EDEN, the national Extension Disaster Education Network. Her advice is to plan, and plan early, even if it s just a quick conversation with family or a single notecard s worth of instructions. I think as Floridians we think that, Oh, we’ve got this. We’ve been through this. We’ve been through tropical storms. We’ve been through hurricanes. But I really want to emphasize the importance of having a plan,” Lindsey said. At least having a plan and jotting some things down is really important.”
