PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. â A South Florida police officer is facing sex charges after an alleged incident at PGA National Resort & Spa in late April.
Palm Beach Gardens police have arrested Miami-Dade police Lt. John Jenkins on charges of sexual battery and attempted sexual battery.
According to police, Jenkins followed the victim into her hotel room, where she said he sexually assaulted her.
Lt. John Jenkins , who last week resigned as as executive vice president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, is charged with two counts of sexual battery, according to Palm Beach Sheriff’s jail booking log.
According to the website for the Palm Beach County PBA, the “Black-tie optional” 13th Annual PBA Officer’s Ball was sold out at Trump National Jupiter Golf Club on April 24. Tickets ranged from $200 to $10,000, with lieutenants paying $2,500 a piece for a four-seat table.
