New UNBC president Donald Cozzetto said he is “settling in quite nicely” in his second week in his new job. Cozzetto took over on July 1, after former president professor Charles Jago retired. Jago served as president for 11 years. Cozzetto said his first objective has been to get to know the university and Prince George. “I’ve met with as many people as I can, both on campus and in the community,” he said. “I’ve been kind of captured by the enthusiasm. People here want UNBC to be successful. People here have a passion for the university.” Groups from all sectors of the community have created a “synergy” of talent and commitment to UNBC’s success, he added.

Nursing students have to make serious changes to the way they learn, mostly consisting of online classes. But while many students across the U.S. are experiencing online classes, it’s especially important for our future nurses to get hands-on experience. At Florida Gulf Coast University, all classes are online except for simulation and labs, because that experience is still required in order to graduate and work during the pandemic.  While it’s challenging, one student says he hopes these challenges inspire others to take on the profession.

FGCU women postpone games against North Alabama, Liberty Published: December 31, 2020 4:22 PM EST Recommended The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball team’s games at North Alabama on Jan. 2 and 3, and against Liberty on Jan. 9 and 10, have been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test. Because of the 14-day quarantine period, the postponement includes FGCU’s Jan. 10 ESPNU game against Liberty. No rescheduled dates have been announced at this time. The official ASUN opener for the Eagles will now be Jan. 16 and 17 at Bellarmine University, followed by the home opener against Lipscomb Jan. 23 and 24. The women’s postponement follows the men’s, who announced Wednesday that their games against North Alabama and Liberty would also be postponed due to COVID-19. New dates for those games have not been set.
