Slovakia Economic Sentiment Weakens In December Slovakia’s economic sentiment weakened in December, data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed on Monday. The economic sentiment index declined to 85.9 in December from 86.6 in November. Among components, the industrial confidence index decreased sharply to -0.3 in December from 7.0 in the prior month. The morale index for the construction sector rose to -47.5 and that for retail trade increased to 3.3. The services confidence indicator rose to -16.7 in December from -29.0 in the previous month. Slovakia Producer Prices Decline Further In November LJUBLJANA (dpa-AFX) - Slovakia s producer prices declined further in November, figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed on Friday. The producer price index fell 0.8 percent year-on-year in November, following a 1.3 percent decline in October. Prices fell for the eighth consecutive month. The domestic market prices fell 0.1 percent annually in November, after a 0.7 percent increase in the previous month. Prices for mining and quarrying grew 3.2 percent yearly in November, while those of manufacturing fell 3.6 percent. Prices for electricity, gas, steam and air-condition supply grew 5.7 percent and those of water supply gained 3.0 percent.

Slovakia Inflation Slows In November Slovakia’s consumer price inflation eased in November, figures from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed on Monday. The consumer price index rose 1.5 percent year-on-year in November, following a 1.6 percent increase in October. This was in line with economists’ expectation. Prices for restaurants and hotels gained 4.1 percent annually in November and those for miscellaneous goods and services grew 3.8 percent. Prices for health, and recreation and culture increased by 3.7 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, prices for transport declined 4.6 percent and communication cost remained unchanged. On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in November, same as seen in the previous month.
