Denmark Consumer Confidence Expands In May
COPENHAGEN (dpa-AFX) - Denmark consumer confidence improved in May, survey data from Statistics Denmark showed on Friday.
The consumer confidence index rose to 2.8 in May from -1.1 in April. The average for the past six months was -2.7.
The index measuring consumers view regarding the future personal financial situation increased to 14.4 in May from 13.1 in the preceding month.
The measure reflecting the past personal financial situation rose to 7.8 in May from 4.1 in the prior month.
Households assessment regarding the general economic situation of the country over the next year expanded to 8.5 in May from 7.4 in April.
Denmark Inflation Rises In April
COPENHAGEN (dpa-AFX) - Denmark s consumer price inflation rises in April and total trade surplus increased in March, data from Statistics Denmark showed on Monday.
The consumer price index rose 1.5 percent year-on-year in April, following a 1.0 percent increase in March. A similar higher rate of inflation was seen in October 2017.
The consumer price index for April is affected by Covid-19, as the drop in price observations remained larger than normal, the agency said.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased the most by 16.1 percent in April, mainly due to higher prices for tobacco.
Prices for home furnishings, household services, and clothing and footwear increased by 1.1 percent, each.
Denmark Industrial Production Accelerates In March
COPENHAGEN (dpa-AFX) - Denmark s industrial production accelerated in March, figures from Statistics Denmark showed on Friday.
Industrial production grew a seasonally adjusted 5.0 percent month-on-month in March, after a 2.1 percent drop in February. In January, output had increased 2.3 percent.
Production of plastic, glass and concrete industry increased the most by 14.3 percent monthly in April. Production of textile and leather industry, and furniture and other industries increased by 8.2 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively.
The industrial turnover rose 6.0 monthly in March.
In the first quarter, industrial production gained 6.0 percent quarterly.
