The main activity indicators in construction stay positive, with cement consumption increasing 8.3% in the second quarter of this year and the bank’s evaluation of housing prices reaching a new historic maximum in June. The July edition of the ‘Construction Sector Situation Analysis’, prepared by the associations of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries (AICCOPN) and Construction, Public Works and Services Companies (AECOPS), recalls that the bank’s assessment of housing maintained its upward trend, with an increase of 8.6% compared to the same month last year, to €1,215 per square metre (m2), a new all-time high. As for cement consumption, the data points to a growth of 8.3% in June, having increased 10.5% at the end of last year, to 3.57 million tonnes.
