On Thursday, Feb. 4, at noon, the Fresno Art Museum will bring you to the Michigan studio of Bonnie Peterson, the fiber artist featured in the current exhibition Another Glorious Sierra Day.

Bonnie Peterson is a textile artist investigating environmental and social issues. Recently, she worked with scientists studying fire ecology, atmospheric science, and lake chemistry to make artwork about climate science. She was an artist-in-residence at Yosemite, Rocky Mountain, Isle Royale, and Crater Lake National Parks. Her work is in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and in many private collections. Peterson has an extensive exhibition and grant funding record including four individual artist grants from the Illinois Arts Council, a grant from the Illinois Committee of the National Museum of Women

Responsible recreation practices should be maintained at all times.
VALLEJO, Calif. – The USDA Forest Service and California State Parks invite Californians to do their part to ensure safe and healthy outdoor experiences during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend and amidst the ongoing pandemic.
Simple actions such as staying local, planning ahead, and following social distancing guidelines, can increase the outdoor experience for everyone. Recreating responsibly will help ensure that expanded access to recreational facilities, services, and opportunities continues day use areas of National Forests and state parks currently open to the public remain open for the health and welfare of Californians.
