A 36-year-old Glasgow woman is facing felony charges in Boone County following a hit-and-run incident that killed a woman in June last year.
According to a probable cause statement, on June 16 Centralia Police received a call that a woman that was out walking her dog that evening had been struck by a driver that had fled the scene. The Missouri Highway Patrol was called in to assist in the investigation that revealed that the driver, later identified as Amy Rievley, had struck 74-year-old Sharon Uebinger causing serious injuries.
While gathering other information regarding the incident, MSHP was advised that Uebinger injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Uebinger later died as a result of those injuries.
A University of Missouri School of Medicine neurosurgery resident, who filed a breach of contract claim in 2018 against the university, did so too late, the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals decided Tuesday.
Rylan Brantl first was notified of his impending residency termination January 2013 and filed a grievance at that time. He had been granted a six-year residency in 2008. The termination ended the residency in its fifth year.
His residency ended June 30, 2013. He filed a U.S. federal court petition June 28, 2018. He sued the Missouri Board of Curators for breach of contract, breach of covenant of good faith and fair dealing, promissory estoppel and retaliation.

A Mountain Home man’s alleged association with firearms has resulted in criminal cases being filed against him in both Baxter and Boone counties.
Twenty-year-old Austin Brice Helms pled not guilty to the charges against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
His latest arrest came Dec. 4 when he was taken into custody by Baxter County deputies and booked into the detention center on a charge of aggravated robbery.
The charge stemmed from an incident involving three men, including Helms. They were reported to have gone to the Executive Inn on Sept. 14 and robbed a man they had met earlier in the evening.
