Michael Lee, the father of Jessica Lee, brought the case after his daughter s car was swept away in the early-morning hours of Aug. 6, 2013, from the flooded Southside Drive in Waynesville. Jessica Lee s 4-year-old son, Elyjah, also was in the vehicle.
The third amended petition filed by Michael Lee on Nov. 25, 2019, was for Jessica. Elyjah s body was found later Aug. 6, 2013, one-half mile from Southside Drive next to Mitchell Creek, while Jessica s was found Aug. 9, 2013, five miles from Southside Drive near Rubidoux Creek and Business Loop 66 in Waynesville.
A University of Missouri rule that prohibits people from possessing or discharging guns on campus conflicts with a law that says the state cannot prohibit its employees from having firearms in their cars while on state property, the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District ruled on Tuesday.
The three-judge panel issued its unanimous ruling in an appeal filed by the Missouri Attorney General s Office that sought to overturn Boone County Circuit Judge Jeff Harris s 2018 decision that the UM rule does not violate state law. The appeals court judges were Presiding Judge Thomas Chapman and Judges Mark Pfeiffer and W. Douglas Thomson.
A 36-year-old Glasgow woman is facing felony charges in Boone County following a hit-and-run incident that killed a woman in June last year.
According to a probable cause statement, on June 16 Centralia Police received a call that a woman that was out walking her dog that evening had been struck by a driver that had fled the scene. The Missouri Highway Patrol was called in to assist in the investigation that revealed that the driver, later identified as Amy Rievley, had struck 74-year-old Sharon Uebinger causing serious injuries.
While gathering other information regarding the incident, MSHP was advised that Uebinger injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Uebinger later died as a result of those injuries.
However, a trial date was not set.
Scott Rosenblum, Elledgeâs attorney, said he would send the court exclusionary dates for the trial by the end of business day Friday. Boone County Prosecutor Dan Knight said he did not have any exclusionary dates.Â
Judge Brouck Jacobs said he is seeking a date for a three-week jury trial to take place no earlier than May. He also said there will be another status hearing six to eight weeks before the trial date.Â
Joseph Elledge attended a virtual court hearing Friday via Zoom to discuss a trial date, but a date was not set.Â
