Biloxi, Miss. (February 17, 2021) – On Saturday, February 27, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Harrah’s Gulf Coast will host a job fair for seasonal pool positions inside Flavors Meeting Room. The job fair offers an exclusive opportunity for onsite interviews with department leaders and Human Resources for full and part-time positions, including Pool Bartenders, Pool Security, Pool Attendants, Pool Servers, and more. For an opportunity to apply and interview for an open position, interested candidates are encouraged to register in advance.

Under NSW Government legislation, all pools and spas must be registered and certified as part of the approval process. Additionally, anyone buying, selling or leasing properties with a swimming pool (including spas and wading pools) must have a Certificate of Registration and a Certificate of Compliance. This applies equally to short-stay holiday rentals offered through providers such as Airbnb. Make sure you compliance certificate is up to date. A Certificate of Compliance is valid for three years, provided no changes have been made to the pool barrier during that time and these can be issued by council officers or private certifiers.

Drowning is the greatest cause of accidental death for children under five in Australia. Each week, on average, one child drowns, many in their own backyards. Research by CHOICE found more than half of Australian pool fences tested did not meet the Australian safety standards for pool fencing. Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among young people with the greatest toll among children under the age of five, new data has found. James Cook University Associate Professor Richard Franklin said 10 years of data from Australia, New Zealand and Canada found a drop in drowning deaths among people under 20, but a large increase in drownings for adolescent females and First Nations peoples. Many more children are impacted by non-fatal drowning, some experiencing long-term health impacts, said Dr Franklin.
