Poole Magistrates Court A MAN has appeared in the dock for stealing from a hospice charity shop in Bournemouth. Robert May, 51, stole a black leather jacket from the Lewis-Manning Hospice Care charity shop in Seamoor Road, Westbourne, on Monday, April 12. May pleaded guilty to a single count of theft when he appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 21. The court heard the jacket May stole was worth £100. The bench order the defendant, of no fixed abode, to pay £100 compensation to the charity. May was discharged conditionally for 12 months for the offence. In a statement after the hearing, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care chief executive Clare Gallie said: We are saddened by the theft of clothing from our local Lewis-Manning Hospice Care Westbourne charity shop.

Courts ban serial thief from going to Co-op in Colehill

Picture: Google Maps/ Street View A MAN who committed five thefts from the same convenience store in the space of a matter of weeks has been banned from going to the shop. Mark John Williams also stole a man s mobility scooter on one of the occasions he was at the Co-op Welcome in Colehill. Williams repeatedly targeted the shop in Smugglers Lane earlier this month as well as back in March. The 47-year-old admitted six counts of theft when appeared at Poole Magistrates Court on May 17. The court heard that his first offence took place on March 7 and saw him steal £39.70 worth of meat and alcohol.

Weymouth woman Emma Smart in court charged with blocking roads during alleged climate protest TWO people appeared in court this afternoon for allegedly obstructing traffic in Weymouth and Dorchester as part of a climate change protest. Emma Joanne Smart, aged 43, of Rodwell Street, Weymouth is charged that she wilfully obstructed traffic on King Street in Weymouth as well as obstruct a police constable on Saturday, May 1. On the same date and as part of a co-ordinated protest, Benjamin Buse, aged 35, of Wells Road, Rodney Stoke, Cheddar, is alleged to have wilfully obstructed Trinity Street near its junction with Weymouth Avenue in Dorchester and also reportedly obstructed a police constable.

Bournemouth man is jailed for spitting at police officer

Reuben Junior Charles, 53 and of Muscliffe Road, Bournemouth A MAN has been jailed after he spat towards a police officer. Reuben Junior Charles, 53, committed the assault at Bournemouth custody centre, having been arrested for an unrelated matter. The incident took place when Charles became agitated and spat at the officer through a cell hatch on September 5 last year. He was charged with assaulting an emergency worker and appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on May 5. Charles pleaded guilty to the offence as well as a breach of a conditional discharge order made by magistrates’ in August 2020 for being drunk and disorderly and possessing class B drugs.
