Event will be Friday, April 23, applications due by Monday, March 8 Written By: PineandLakes Echo Journal | 9:00 am, Feb. 14, 2021 × The Miss Pequot Lakes Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 23, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium. Scholarship amounts for 2021 are: Miss Pequot Lakes, $4,000; Pequot Lakes Princess, $2,000; and Miss Congeniality, $1,000. Requirements for applicants are: The Miss Pequot Lakes Scholarship Pageant is open to all female junior and senior students of the Pequot Lakes School District, including Crosslake Community School, online and/or home-schooled students. Students must be in good standing and meeting their school requirements. Students must have their application in by Monday, March 8, to the pageant committee office at Merritt Jewelers in Pequot Lakes or to the Pequot Lakes High School office.

Pine River-Backus School District staff will begin getting shots Thursday, Feb. 4, and Pequot Lakes School District staff benefited from extra vaccines for 116 shots that were administered Thursday, Jan. 21. “Around the 11th of January, we were notified about a statewide effort, pushed by the Department of Health, to start vaccinating teachers on a pilot so they could work out the mechanics of it,” Pequot Lakes Superintendent Chris Lindholm said. “In that effort, we found out on Monday (Jan. 18) that each district was allocated to just a handful of vaccinations. We had six, Pine River had five. So we all reacted to that, by communicating that we had to prioritize staff that want the vaccine, then select six staff to get the opportunity to participate in
