The San Antonio Spurs have done a marvelous job building a winning brand. There are the five championships, obviously. Just as important, though, is the organization’s long track record of community service, and the genuine love Spurs players shower on our city.

SAN ANTONIO – Revelers who want to celebrate the end of 2020 with a bang will be restricted to certain fireworks this year.
The Bexar County Commissioners Court has approved a ban on the sale and use of “restricted” fireworks until Jan. 14, unless shortened.
Those fireworks include “skyrockets with sticks” and “missiles with fins,” as classified under state law.
Fire Marshal Chris Lopez presented the proposal, which says the normal danger of fire is “greatly enhanced by extremely dry conditions.”

To better address inmates with mental health issues, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is proposing a plan to convert unused space in the jail’s annex into a mental health facility.
Salazar wrote to the Bexar County Commissioners Court on Tuesday about the proposal, seeking their approval and support for it.
“I believe we have enough interested parties who would be willing to collaborate on the issue and ultimate solution,” Salazar wrote in his letter.
