SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a man who was fatally shot during a confrontation with a suspicious driver outside his Northwest Side home.
Oscar Rene Castillo, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
San Antonio police officers found Castillo on the ground with a gunshot wound just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Brentcove Street in the Finesilver Ranch subdivision, a gated community. The subdivision is located inside Loop 1604 near Braun Road.

A Live Oak man said he was high on acid when he shot and killed a 23-year-old man at a Northeast Side apartment, an arrest affidavit said.
Imond Martise Woods, 22, was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Deshaun Adriel Moorer.
On Dec. 27, Live Oak police were called to the Navona at Live Oak apartments, located at 13101 E. Loop 1604, after a witness heard yelling before shots rang out from inside one of the apartments. When the witness went to investigate, Moorer was lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to his chest, the affidavit said.

A teenager wounded in an accidental shooting early Wednesday has died, according to San Antonio police.
Officers responded around 2:13 a.m. to the 200 block of Remolino on the West Side, where they found two teenagers with gunshot wounds.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Jose Ortega was killed early Wednesday.
Officers were called around 2:15 a.m. to the 200 block of Remolino Street, not far from Cupples Road and Highway 90 after receiving reports of a shooting.
According to police, a 16-year-old girl was messing with a gun and accidentally fired one shot, hitting the 19-year-old in the head and also striking an 18-year-old woman in the leg.
The two victims were taken by EMS to Brooke Army Medical Center, where Ortega later died.

Driver dies after losing control of car in construction zone, hitting tree, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man who lost control of his car and fatally crashed on Friday has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Levi Jefferies Jr, 22, died of multiple blunt force injuries he suffered from the crash on Wetmore Road near Maverick Creek shortly before 3 a.m., authorities said.
Police said Jefferies was driving his 2013 Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Wetmore Road when he swerved to avoid hitting construction barrels.
