The Bexar County Medical Examiner s Office has now identified both people found dead from an apparent murder-suicide inside a North Side home last week.
Officials said Azucena Nelson, 49, and Todd Owen Hafer, 53, were found dead in the residence in the 2000 block of Chittim Trail Drive. The medical examiner listed Nelson s manner of death as a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head and Hafer s was listed as a suicide from a gunshot wound to the head.
San Antonio police were called to the home on April 6 at around 4 p.m. after a family friend requested a welfare check on the couple. He had spoken to the couple two or three days prior but hadn t heard from them since.

Officials said 53-year-old Todd Owen Hafer was found dead in the residence in the 2000 block of Chittim Trail Drive, though no cause of death has been listed. The second person, a 49-year-old woman, has not been identified.

San Antonio police investigate two unrelated homicides on Southwest Side

The San Antonio Police Department reported two homicides on the Southwest side Friday night.
The first occurred at 9:50 p.m. along the 800 block of W. Baetz Boulevard. A man walked into a home and shot the victim, an unidentified man in his 30s or 40s, officials said.
The killer then fled east along Baetz Boulevard on foot, officials said.
An officer spotted a man with a gun several blocks away; there was evidence he was involved in the shooting, police said.
Raymond Hernandez, 28, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.
