Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales is asking local crime victims to be patient as jury trials resume in the county. Gonzales sent a letter to crime victims on Monday explaining that the county s 44 courts are facing a backlog of 35,000 criminal cases. Jury trials were shut down last year because of the pandemic, and are set to start again on June 1st, but it ll take a while to get to all the cases. Gonzales says crime victims need to make sure the DA s office has their current contact information.
