As the CBSE cancelled its exams for class 10 and deferred those for class 12, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra have also postponed their state board exams for these classes due to an alarming surge in coronavirus cases. States like West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh said they were monitoring the situation and are yet to decide whether to go ahead with the board exams.

The Election Commission of India on Wednesday directed all petrol pump dealers and other agencies to remove hoardings advertising the Centre’s schemes that has Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photographs, from the premises of the facilities within 72 hours, reported PTI, citing officials.
An official from the West Bengal Chief Electoral Office said that the use of the prime minister’s photograph in hoardings violates the Model Code of Conduct. The Election Commission of India had announced the schedule for elections in four states, including West Bengal, and one Union Territory on February 26, the date when the Model Code of Conduct came into force in these places.

In view of the pandemic, all schools and colleges were closed across the country. However, with the falling number of Covid-19 cases and the beginning of the nationwide vaccination programme, several states have opened their gates for physical classes. Most schools have been reopened only for classes 10 and 12 but many others have started physical classes for junior classes as well.
