Ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections, there are rumours floating around about veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty joining BJP.
The speculations have once again gained momentum, and it is conjectured that the actor will share the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his rally on March 7 at Brigade Parade ground in Kolkata.
The rumours about the 70-year-old actor joining the BJP started after he had met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat in February in Mumbai. However, he stated that the meeting was strictly for apolitical reasons.

Civil engineer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) spokesperson Debangshu Bhattacharya is behind the party s latest unofficial anthem, ‘Khela Hobe’. A raging hit among the youth of Bengal, Khela Hobe is a rap number created by the 25-year-old. Even Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee using the ‘Khela Hobe’ slogan to challenge her opponents.
Ahead of the Assembly elections in Bengal, the song gained massive popularity. It was then speculated that Debangshu would get a ticket from the Howrah constituency.

Grand Alliance comprising Left Front, Congress and ISF on Friday announced the first list of candidates for Bengal assembly election 2021. Earlier in the day, Trinamool Congress led by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, released the full list of 291 candidates for the forthcoming elections in the state. Meanwhile, BJP is also expected to release the first list of candidates for the upcoming polls.
A Congress MP Pradip Bhattacharya said, names of Congress candidates for seats allotted to it in the alliance will be announced by the high command in Delhi.
