MP Speaker gifts Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee copy of Ramayana over Jai Shri Ram row Ravish Pal Singh
In light of the controversy, Pro-tem Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Rameshwar Sharma gifted a copy of the Ramayana to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday, appealing her to read it carefully.
Rameshwar Sharma alleged that CM Mamata Banerjee is opposing Ram s name under pressure from Bangladesh and due to her vote bank . Everyone knows what is the current status and condition of those who opposed Lord Ram s name in the past, he said.
While speaking to India Today TV, Sharma said Did anyone have an empire bigger than Ravana? But he opposed Ram s name and everyone knows what happened to him.

On Saturday evening, during commemoration event of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose s 125th birth anniversary at Kolkata s Victoria Memorial, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee erupted in anger at the crowd after she was faced with chants of Jai Shri Ram . Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar were also present at the event.
