West Bengal assembly elections 2021 are due in less than a month, starting from March 27, 2021, and ending in April 2021. The Election Commission of India(ECI) has declared the voting schedule for 1 Union Territory(UT) Puducherry and 4 states- West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
The parties are gearing up for the elections by decking on the candidates. The major political parties have yet announced their list of candidates for the election, it is more likely to happen after the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announces candidates of Trinamool Congress(TMC).

West Bengal: Conduct municipal polls across the state as soon as possible, orders Calcutta High Court

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Friday instructed the West Bengal Election Commission to consult the ruling Trinamool Congress government and start the process of the municipal elections across the state except the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) election.
As West Bengal is all set to witness the assembly polls in the next couple of months, Calcutta High Court had instructed the state Election Commission to conduct elections in all 100 Municipalities in the state with the exception of that of KMC.
