BENGALURU: Kengeri’s wait for Namma Metro connectivity is likely to end soon.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Tuesday issued a public notice asking people not to come in contact with the 33kv cables and 750 volt DC third rail installed on the viaduct.
The completed third rail traction system would be energised in phases.
Officials said Namma Metro’s 6-km western extension from Mysuru Road to Kengeri (Purple Line) is on track.
BMRCL managing director Ajay Seth said trial runs on the section will begin from March-end and commercial operations will start in June as per schedule.

For the first time, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has deployed an indigenously assembled tunnel boring machine for Namma Metro work. The unnamed TBM has been deployed at Rashtriya Military School station, and will burrow its way towards Langford station.

KSRTC) on Women’s Day handed over a Sthree Toilet a mobile toilet built from an old bus to the Karnataka State
Tourism Development Corporation (
KSTDC).
“The Sthree Toilet was built at the KSRTC Workshop, Kengeri recently. The bus was converted into a women’s toilet. The toilet will have a bathroom with a shower for the benefit of women. KSTDC chairperson Shruthi Krishna has also made some suggestions to improve the Sthree Toilet,’’ said KSRTC
