Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), SR Vishwanath, has been made the head of the allotment committee, which is termed as a violation of the BDA Act. No chairperson, a political appointee, was given such powers in the last 18 years ever since the BDA (Allotment of
Sites) (Amendment) Rules, 2003 came into effect. This is the first time a
BDA commissioner has given away his administrative responsibilities.

Continuing the declining trend, Karnataka on Monday reported 2,576 new cases and 93 deaths, taking the caseload and toll to 28,37,206 and 34,836 respectively.
