The New Bedford Art Museum keeps the arts rolling
Standard-Times
The New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! (NBAM) will be traveling across New Bedford in the iconic purple artMOBILE as it transforms into a “cARTer” MOBILE, beginning on May 7. This outreach program will continue to be a free and accessible creative source where youth can engage in artistic and inventive instruction with quality art supplies.
The “cARTer” MOBILE will be incorporating mediums and materials that highlight the Art Museum’s exhibition featuring Ruth E. Carter. An Academy Award-winning costume designer, Carter’s known for her work on Black Panther, Malcolm X, Amistad, Do the Right Thing, and other outstanding motion pictures. The exhibition will follow Carter’s creative process and include sketches, mood boards, iconic costumes, and other ephemera from her Los Angeles studio. This show will open at NBAM on May 1 and run through Nov. 14.
