Authorities in Bedford County are searching for a “very short” man who they say tried to steal an ATV on Saturday.
According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, a mustached man who “had a hard time seeing over the steering wheel” and looked to be around 20 years old tried to steal a Kawasaki ATV from a home on Crab Orchard Road.
The owner was able to catch the suspect red-handed before he ran off, leaving the ATV behind, deputies said.

th, 2020, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received information that a subject described as a very short (had a hard time seeing over the steering wheel), white male, approximately 20 years old, and a mustache, attempted to steal a Kawasaki ATV from a residence on Crab Orchard Road. The owner was able to catch the subject in the act and the subject fled, leaving the ATV behind. The vehicle appears to be an extended cab Ford F-150 with a small white enclosed trailer (see photo).

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – Two people who authorities believe are responsible for multiple thefts across Bedford County are now in custody.
On Wednesday, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received a report that people in a black SUV were connected to a purse theft within the town of Bedford.
Later, deputies learned that a credit card from the stolen purse was used at a business in the Forest area.
