Police investigate ‘attempted homicide’ at motel near Michigan-Ohio border Updated Jan 01, 2021; Facebook Share BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI Police are investigating what they’re calling an attempted homicide in Monroe County. A staff member at the Happy Day Motel in Bedford Township found two people a 32-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, both from Toledo unresponsive in one of the rooms around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30. Monroe County deputies learned both victims were assaulted the night prior at the Bedford Inn Motel – less than a mile away. Bedford Inn Motel, located on S. Telegraph Road, is less than a half-mile north of the Michigan-Ohio border.
