Danish PM admits to mistakes over mink cull
The Danish prime minister, Mette Frederiksen, did indeed cry, tears rolling down her cheeks in front of rolling cameras as she talked about the mink tragedy. However, her tears were not because she was so moved by the fate of the animals, but rather for the mink farmers whose life s work has been destroyed.
Denmark has long been one of the largest global exporters of mink fur but not anymore. The government ordered the so-called cull of all mink in the country. Kopenhagen Fur, the largest Danish auction house for furs, had to close down.

New Delhi [India], January 9 (ANI): Responding to an affidavit filed by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in the Delhi High Court, the Bihar Government on Friday said that the practice of branding and nose roping of animals are not prevalent in the state of Bihar and castration is carried out in a humane manner.
PETA s affidavit filed in the ongoing petition filed in the Delhi HC sought immediate prohibition on practicing inhumane animal husbandry procedures and cruel methods adopted for euthanasia of animals in India.
