WIND ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MUCH OF KMMO LISTENING AREA

This is definitely a hold-onto-your-hat kind of day. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the KMMO listening area until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23. According to a news release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result. Southwest winds are expected to be 20 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, throughout the advisory period. You are also urged to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Affected area counties include Saline, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Howard and Pettis.

This is a compilation of reports released by the Pettis County Sheriff s Office: On Wednesday, Pettis County Deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 36000 block of Route KK. A suspect was identified, but was not yet located at the time of the report.   On Wednesday, John Walker reported to deputies that his license plates were stolen off his vehicle while it was parked at either the 400 block of North Magnolia, or Bothwell Regional Health Center. The plates were entered as stolen.   On Monday, Pettis County Deputies took an assault report of a special victim located at 333 South Lamine in Sedalia. Formal charges were requested for 3rd degree assault/special victim.

Two Arrested in Sedalia in Heroin Trafficking Operation

Two Arrested in Sedalia in Heroin Trafficking Operation On Dec. 9, the Pettis County Sheriff s Office and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force ended a multi-month investigation into heroin trafficking from St. Louis to Sedalia. The investigation came to an end when Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of West Broadway. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Tyrone Davis of Florissant, and the front seat passenger was identified as Chelsi M. Griffin of St. Louis. During the stop, deputies and drug task force members were assisted by Sedalia Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Moniteau County Sheriff s Office s K9 Unit.

This is a compilation of reports released by the Pettis County Sheriff s Office: On Sunday around 3:30 a.m., Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Meadowood Drive. The driver, Gabriella Pascual was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. During the stop, the rear passenger, identified as Kayla L. Leach, took off running from the vehicle. She reportedly dropped several items on the ground as she ran. Deputies submitted charges of resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.   An autopsy was conducted on a Pettis County Jail inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell Dec. 7. Preliminary results of the autopsy, conducted at the Boone County Medical Examiner s Office in Columbia, discovered that James Smith, Jr., died from aterioscolerosis, thrombosis and aging myocardial infarction. Smith also had a large blood clot in one of his coronary arteries. A final pathology report is expected to take 16 to 20 weeks to become availab
