April 25, 2021 [Argus] – Construction work on Oman’s 230,000 b/d Duqm refinery project has crossed the 81pc mark, according to operator OQ8.
In its latest update issued over the weekend, OQ8, which was formerly known as Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industry Company (DRPIC), said the project’s overall progress had exceeded 81pc as of late last month. This is up from 79.9pc in February and 75.67pc as of 25 December 2020.
The refinery which will produce primarily diesel, jet fuel, naphtha and LPG was on track to start commissioning in late 2021 or early 2022. But company sources have since suggested that Covid-19 related measures have likely delayed plans somewhat.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27, (KUNA): Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Mohammad Al-Fares inspected work at a number of oil companies affiliated to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).

Al-Fares said in a press statement that the visits to the Kuwait Oil Company, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Petrochemical Industry Company aimed to review and discuss their plans and strategies in oil and gas industry, and their role in achieving the KPC’s strategic directions and added value to national resources.
